Initiatives

Django Namibia is a user group that focuses on learning and sharing knowledge about the Django web framework. We organize monthly meetups where members present talks, share projects, and collaborate on open-source initiatives. Topics covered include Django basics, advanced features, best practices, and integrations with other technologies.

Workshops are also held regularly to provide hands-on experience in building web applications from scratch using Django. We encourage community-driven development and support local developers in their projects.

Data Carpentry aims to develop and teach foundational data skills to researchers. Our workshops are highly interactive and cover topics such as data organization, cleaning, management, analysis, and visualization. We focus on practical, hands-on skills that are essential for data-driven research.

Each workshop is domain-specific, meaning we tailor the content to fit the needs of different research fields such as genomics, ecology, and social sciences. Participants learn how to use tools like R, Python, SQL, and spreadsheets to handle their data more effectively.
